This Basingstoke-based components specialist is set for “another monster year”, its MD told us (see Q&A below).

Although Origin Storage’s last filed accounts for the year to 31 March 2024 show flattish revenues of £17.3m, its tally for its fiscal 2025 leapt to £24m, according to numbers it split out for us.

As well as distributing third-party brands, it sells own-branded SSDs and other hardware.

“We’re set for another monster year”

Quickfire Q&A with MD Stuart Eling

What’s your top priority over the next 12 months?

Massive expansion of brands Origin represents, watch this space!

What’s the most under-rated facet of your business?

Our Integrations Centre.

Name a vendor or technology area that’s been a hit for you in 2025

Origin Memory has just pipped the top spot so far in 2025 with nearly a 14% share of total revenue by category.

Are you expecting to grow in this calendar year?

Yes, we’re set for another monster year with 25% growth on our previous year’s results.

3 of the 4 largest companies in this report have changed ownership in the last 12 months (or are about to). What does that say about the market?

I think it says that the UK distribution market is strong and shows excellent opportunities for investment.

How do you feel that one company featured in this report took out a full-page New York Times ad in March blasting the term ‘distributor’?

Everyone’s allowed an opinion, but that doesn’t mean it’s right 😉

On a scale of 1-10, how optimistic are you about the IT distribution market right now?

Easy one, 10 – the market seems to of had a very strong summer and signs point to this continuing despite the usual Xmas “shortages”.
