This “cloud commerce marketplace” made the headlines in March when it took out a full-page New York Times advert blasting TD Synnex and Ingram for “selling the past”.

Pax8 owes its UK presence partly to the 2021 and 2023 acquisitions of Wirehive and Bam Boom Cloud.
Its UK arm saw revenues almost double to £82.8m in calendar 2023 (2024 numbers are due out imminently).
CEO Scott Chasin in April talked IT Channel Oxygen through his plans to build Pax8 into “a large-cap company” and put clear water between itself and its peer group.

What’s your top priority over the next 12 months?
The top priority for the team at Pax8 is to empower our partners with the tools, resources and technology needed to successfully take advantage of the agentic economy and evolve into Managed Intelligence Providers (MIPs), as the architects of AI-powered transformation for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs). Pax8 is delivering this through robust enablement programmes, including Voyager Alliance, Guided Growth, and Pax8 Academy, alongside our Pax8 Marketplace.
What’s the most under-rated facet of your business?
Pax8 Professional Services is an often-underutilised offering that every partner can benefit from by integrating certified engineers directly into partner workflows, should they need augmentation or wish to offer a new service to their SMB clients. Pax8 ensures deployments of solutions such as Microsoft Copilot and Azure through a fixed-price model that simplifies complexity and accelerates transformation. It’s a powerful enabler of partner success that deserves more recognition.
Name a vendor or technology area that’s been a hit for you in 2025?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the technology of the moment. While the hype cycle around AI has brought its share of disappointments and inflated promises during early stages, a practical shift is now underway. SMBs are adopting agent-driven workflows that reduce costs, expand capacity and deliver outcomes once reserved for large enterprises. Pax8 is building the infrastructure for MIPs to seize the opportunities presented by the agentic economy today.

Are you expecting to grow in this calendar year?
Pax8 has continued to grow by investing in the Pax8 Marketplace and in our partners through Pax8 enablement programmes. As small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) enter the agentic economy, where autonomous AI agents augment human capabilities and drive operational efficiency, Pax8 is equipping partners with the tools and frameworks to lead this shift from managed service providers (MSPs) to MIPs.
What distribution news story most grabbed your attention in 2025?
The release of the Pax8 Managed Intelligence Provider Playbook and the unveiling of the Agent Store were defining news moments at the Pax8 Beyond EMEA event in 2025. This roadmap and key innovation empower partners to thrive in the agentic economy by turning insights into revenue. It’s a bold and clear signal that the channel is evolving fast, and Pax8 is here to support partners through the change.
You took out a full-page New York Times ad in March blasting the term ‘distributor’. Why?
Pax8 is not like the rest and never has been. Technology has moved forward, creating exciting transformation in the industry, and we’re ready to take our partners into the future. Pax8 sees past the boundaries of traditional models while keeping a constant eye on what the market and SMBs need. Our Marketplace has robust capabilities powered by data and AI, enabling our partners to grow their businesses in various ways.
On a scale of 1-10, how optimistic are you about the IT distribution market right now?
Pax8 is a Marketplace, not a distributor. We are building the future by redefining how partners, including managed service providers, serve small and mid-sized businesses through agentic AI solutions and leading-edge technology driving transformation ahead of the competition.
