The Birmingham-based converged IP solutions specialist saw revenues advance 5% to £174.5m in calendar 2024, according to numbers it shared with us.
Generating the majority of its revenues from in-house cabling brand ‘Excel’, Mayflex also carries third-party IP CCTV products from the likes of Motorola and Axis.
It has since 2015 been part of France-headquartered B2B electrical products outfit Sonepar.
Mayflex CEO Andrew Percival has German expansion in his sights (see Q&A below).

What’s your top priority over the next 12 months?
In terms of revenue development we intend to grow our presence in the colocation and enterprise datacentre markets across EMEA, geographically we will launch the Excel brand in Germany. To support improvements in CX and AX and achieve productivity gains we will invest and develop AI applications and use cases.
What’s the most under-rated facet of your business?
Our ability to manage the supply chain challenges post covid, and as result of conflicts in Middle East which impact freight service reliability.

Motorola cloud-based, AI-driven IPCCTV for enterprise, stadia, and retail applications.

That scale is important, we expect to see further consolidation in the coming years, also indicates a positive long-term view of the IT and related markets.
On a scale of 1-10, how optimistic are you about the IT distribution market right now?
Probably a 7 or 8, there are growth and development opportunities, but price competitiveness creates challenges in balancing investment to go after these and retaining acceptable profit margins.
