Specialism: AV, components, mobile, print and IT solutions

Key vendors: “It’s hard to pick out a few”

UK revenue: £1.59bn (-4%)

Active UK reseller/MSP base: 4,000

Exertis IT’s new owner can “give us the attention we deserve”, CEO Tim Griffin told IT Channel Oxygen in July as its parent company announced it had agreed its sale.

DCC Group is offloading the £2bn-revenue Anglo-Irish distributor to private equity house Aurelius for an enterprise value of around £100m.

The transaction is set to close “this Autumn” (so any day now).

According to DCC’s latest accounts, UK distribution revenues slid 4% to £1.59bn in the year to 31 March 2025 (having shrunk 8% in 2024 and 9% in 2023).

It counts AV, mobile and components among its specialties.

“I’m a solid 8 with brighter sunshine ahead”

Quickfire Q&A with CEO Tim Griffin

What’s your top priority over the next 12 months?

Kicking on post the Aurelius transaction.

What’s the most under-rated facet of your business?

The extent of our specialist capabilities in key domain areas – gaming, AV, Mobile, Components and more. All of these are underpinned by the best operational capabilities in the industry and our award-winning inclusive culture which we’re immensely proud of.

Name a vendor or technology area that’s been a hit for you in 2025?

Gaming

Are you expecting to grow in this calendar year?

In our key specialist areas, yes.

3 of the 4 largest companies in this report have changed ownership in the last 12 months (or are about to). What does that say about the market?

People are investing and the need for our services has never been stronger.

How do you feel that one company featured in this report took out a full-page New York Times ad in March blasting the term ‘distributor’?

Language is important. What distributor means is ours to define – our customers understand our specialist proposition and the value we add; they use us to provide market reach, simplify their supply chain and leverage skills they don’t have but their customers need.

On a scale of 1-10, how optimistic are you about the IT distribution market right now?

A solid 8 with brighter sunshine ahead.
