Role: CEO, CloudClevr
What’s been your business high point of the last 12 months?
Proving that progress doesn’t have to come from adding more noise. We’ve grown by getting clearer about who we are, what we do well and where we can genuinely add value.
Name one thing your company is looking to achieve in 2026
To become the partner customers call first, and be known as the UK’s trusted managed services partner.
What keeps you awake at night as a partner leader?
Nothing. If something is important enough to keep me awake, I just focus to fix it. If I can’t fix it, worrying about it at 3am isn’t going to help.
Is AI being over-hyped?
AI is simultaneously both over-hyped and under-estimated. The marketing is ahead of the reality, but the long-term impact is probably a lot bigger than most people realise.
What’s been your most successful internal AI project to date, and why?
The projects that save people time are good. The projects that help people make better decisions are transformational and this has been our main focus to date. We have invested in our own data warehouse and through using AI we are seeing far more value from the second category.
Can you share a surprising prediction about how UK IT channel partners or the UK IT channel will evolve over the next 5 years?
The biggest threat to most channel partners won’t be AI. It’ll be irrelevance. Customers are running out of patience with partners who simply resell products and add another layer of management.
Which tech gizmo (hardware or software) could you not function without?
Am still a bit old fashioned and it’s my mobile – I use a lot of applications to support my work but picking up the phone to call someone is still the fastest way to communicate and get things done.
Which three famous people, dead or alive, would you invite to a dinner party?
Ricky Gervais, Patrick Vieira and Noel Gallagher.
If you had a warning label, what would it say?
Answers may be shorter and more direct than expected.
Which tech figurehead has impressed you the most this year, and why?
Eric Yuan. The investments, launches and acquisitions by Zoom in emerging technologies in the last 12 months have been transformative and he clearly still finds the time to be highly focused on culture and his team.
