Role: CEO, Shaping Cloud

What’s been your business high point of the last 12 months?

Turning momentum into repeatable and recurring growth. Winning well is great, but building a business that can doit consistently is most important.

Name one thing your company is looking to achieve in 2026

To be the partner customers call first when the challenge is complex and the stakes are high.

What keeps you awake at night as a partner leader?

Complacency. Markets move fast, and yesterday’s edge disappears quickly.

Is AI being over-hyped?

AI is over-hyped in theory and underused in practice.

What’s been your most successful internal AI project to date, and why?

Our best use of AI internally so far has been applying AI to enable better operational decision-making – because the biggest gains come from better judgement, faster execution, and less wasted effort. AI is helping us build business in a way we only dreamed of a few years ago.

Can you share a surprising prediction about how UK IT channel partners or the UK IT channel will evolve over the next 5 years?

I don’t believe the most successful partners will be the ones with the biggest catalogue. I think the highest growth will come from those with the clearest point of view, the strongest data and AI capability, and the courage to specialise and deliver brilliantly.

Which tech gizmo (hardware or software) could you not function without?

My phone – not because I love it, but because modern leadership is mobile by default.

Which three famous people, dead or alive, would you invite to a dinner party?

Fame doesn’t impress me in the slightest. I’d go for Jesus Christ, one of my daughters, and Dario Amodei – purpose, a next-gen perspective, and a hard-edged conversation about technology, power and responsibility.

If you had a warning label, what would it say?

Bring the effort and I’m your biggest backer; bring BS and I’ll call you on it.

Which tech figurehead has impressed you the most this year, and why?

The whole leadership at Anthropic have impressed me this year – laser-focused on their business, handling near-vertical growth, and still staying principled under pressure from some of the most powerful institutions in the world.
