Role: Founder and CEO, The One Point
What’s been your business high point of the last 12 months?
We successfully exited one of our NHS-aligned IT MSP investments. It was our first significant ‘investment to exit’ sale that we have completed. It made sense for the business, the buyer and for us.
Name one thing your company is looking to achieve in 2026
Like most, we intend on making the most of the AI/Automation opportunities, so we have placed significant time and budget into this area, with new qualified hires and tooling. We are exciting about taking these solutions to our customer base too.
What keeps you awake at night as a partner leader?
Encryption, encryption, encryption! The game of cat and mouse has just taken AI-steroids!
Is AI being over-hyped?
Absolutely not. Maybe the valuations have been over-hyped and we will see a ‘dot.com-bust’ on the horizon, but the technology is a fundamental technological shift, our lives will never be the same again! Issues created by our aging population and the lack of population growth can surely be resolved by harnessing AI and robotics allowing humans to be human.
What’s been your most successful internal AI project to date, and why?
Our software investment business Think360 have built a platform called AI Suite. This platform is aimed at the ports, logistics and manufacturing markets. This platform is transforming how this massive industry operates with customers and opportunities around the globe. Within The One Point we have been busy building telephone handling and ticket triage agents, amongst other projects.
Can you share a surprising prediction about how UK IT channel partners or the UK IT channel will evolve over the next 5 years?
I am hoping that regulation will force all MSPs to operate to a minimum standard, and in doing so charge for services appropriately. There are too many ‘back-bedroom’ MSP businesses delivering a reactive service that SME Britain value whilst being blissfully unaware of their exposure. I would like to see regulation forcing change in this area.
Which tech gizmo (hardware or software) could you not function without?
My iPhone.
Which three famous people, dead or alive, would you invite to a dinner party?
Winston Churchill, Leonardo DaVinci, Marcus Aurelius.
If you had a warning label, what would it say?
Beware optimist in your vicinity!
Which tech figurehead has impressed you the most this year, and why?
It is hard to look beyond Jensen Huang. I like his business philosophy, intensity and work ethic. I also like his ‘rags to riches’ story.
