“2026 could be an exciting year”
Quickfire Q&A with MD Graeme Sutton
Which product, service or vendor has stood out for you in 2024?
Lantronix and their out-of-band solutions.
If you could change one thing about your business at the stroke of a wand, what would it be?
Resellers’ mindsets when it comes to looking at other technologies. Too many people are stuck in the old adage of buying certain vendors. Some niche players offer some exceptional products.
When will the UK distribution market return to growth?
This depends on the go-to-market plan of the vendors aligned to distribution. Some are moving back to direct models which reduce the revenue for distributors, however, we have noticed that our demand is growing again. We would think ‘26 could be an exciting year purely down to the fact that our government will be putting a lot of pressure on public sector to cut costs which could delay projects for a short period.
Name one area of your business where you are expecting to add staff in 2025
Sales – our strategy is to develop our existing client base as well as recruit new partners.
If you could be a fly on the wall for a day at another distributor, which would you choose?
Westcoast, because I would like to see how they operate on a day to day basis and learn how to improve Sol Distribution.
