This Pure Storage and Cohesity ally launched in 2015 with a mission of “bridging the technology gap between the USA and UK”.
Its UK revenues alone hit £73m in 2023, up from £47m in 2022, the Oxfordshire-based outfit told us. It also now operates in mainland Europe, UAE, the Cayman Islands and the USA.
2024 has seen Ethos sign a brace of new vendors in the shape of Verge.io and Superna, CEO Omar Galbraith told us (see below).
“Ethos are still in hyper growth”
Quickfire Q&A with CEO Omar Galbraith
Which product, service or vendor has stood out for you in 2024?
Pure Storage and Portworx have really impressed me so far this year. I was really excited with the announcements at accelerate in September that highlighted some key developments around AI which will massively improve performance, predictive maintenance, efficiency resource management, enhanced security, data insights, energy efficiency, user experience all while offering massive cost savings to customers while giving industry beating ESG results.
If you could change one thing about your business at the stroke of a wand, what would it be?
It’s a fluffy answer but right now we are on an upward trajectory so I wouldn’t change a thing. We have an amazing team and everyone at Ethos has the same goals: deliver excellent service and grow the business.
When will the UK distribution market return to growth?
Ethos are still in hyper growth. I think legacy distribution growth won’t return any time soon, but new and innovative distributors will see major growth by offering above and beyond services to partners.
Name one area of your business where you are expecting to add staff in 2025.
We are growing our UK business due to the signing of two exciting vendors [Verge.io and Superna] and will be investing heavily in our UAE operations as we see this as a massive growth area for Ethos.
If you could be a fly on the wall for a day at another distributor, which would you choose?
Tim in Germany as they seem to have the same Ethos as us.
