Despite its acquisition by Westcoast in April, we have opted to break out Spire’s performance one final time (seeing as it did not contribute to Westcoast’s latest financials).
Having boomed 50% during its lockdown-fuelled fiscal 2021, the Dorset-based hardware distributor’s revenues have shrunk for three successive years (falling 7% to £96m in its latest period, ending 28 April 2024).
Talking to IT Channel Oxygen in April, Westcoast’s then Executive Director Alex Tatham stressed that the UK’s largest distributor previously had a limited footprint in Spire’s PC build and gaming stomping ground.
“There is no vendor that is the same,” Tatham said.
“The portfolio is totally accretive to the business, and actually Westcoast haven’t got an enormous components business to work with, so that sits very well too.”
