Role: Managing Director, Cobweb

What’s been your business high point of the last 12 months?

Winning back a big Microsoft customer who left for a 40% Vodafone discount — then realised cheaper isn’t always better and came back.

Name one thing your company is looking to achieve in 2026

Making more services simple, scalable and predictable with per-user monthly pricing,

What keeps you awake at night as a partner leader?

The economy, but also how too many small businesses still underestimate cyber risk. Too often, it only feels real after an incident – when the damage is already done.

Is AI being over-hyped?

No – but the noise is louder than the reality. AI’s real value is solving practical business problems.

What’s been your most successful internal AI project to date, and why?

Our customer portal – combining live data with a progressive web app to give customers faster, clearer access to what they need.

Can you share a surprising prediction about how UK IT channel partners or the UK IT channel will evolve over the next 5 years?

The most successful partners won’t be the ones selling the most technology, but the ones simplifying it best. As AI, automation and security become embedded everywhere, customers will value partners who can cut through the noise and turn complexity into clear business outcomes.

Which tech gizmo (hardware or software) could you not function without?

My iPhone, it’s permanently attached to my hand.

Which three famous people, dead or alive, would you invite to a dinner party?

Sir David Attenborough, for stories that would captivate and educate in equal measure.

Steve Ballmer, for his Microsoft legacy and larger-than-life personality.

Maya Angelou, for her wisdom, courage and unforgettable words.

If you had a warning label, what would it say?

Warning: Likely to make things happen faster.

Which tech figurehead has impressed you the most this year, and why?

Fei-Fei Li — for keeping AI ambitious, ethical and human-centred.
