What’s your snap reaction to yesterday’s announcement?

When times are tough and the bond market is killing the economic headroom, jump on the nearest bandwagon! That’s my snap reaction. Maybe it’s unfair, but AI isn’t a cure-all for this country’s woes, and will not repair the damage done since the cost of doing business increased in July.

As a company which deals with the realities of delivering AI to business customers every day, what’s your one piece of advice for the new government regarding how it approaches AI growth and regulation?

This government needs to create an environment for AI innovation in the private sector. 90% of the AI we see and use in our work comes from the US. We are severely lagging behind in the UK. If we want to leverage this latest technology wave, I’d like to see investment incentives, increased R&D support, and less red tape all aligned to safe AI governance. I would love to see AI innovation rewarded, and for that to happen, entrepreneurs need some confidence at the point of their own investment decisions – the government can provide that if they are brave enough.
