Orange Cyberdefense has tasked its new UK MD with growing marketshare, as well as diversifying its portfolio.

Ajay Bhardwaj has taken the reins of the Orange-owned pan-European cybersecurity monster’s UK arm, which ranked 78th in the recent Oxygen 250.

Bhardwaj previously spent nearly a decade as an exec at Secureworks, and also includes stints at McAfee and Intel Security on his CV.

Orange Cyberdefense UK’s revenues fell 4% to £68.5m in calendar 2023, its most recently filed accounts show.

Bhardwaj has been tasked with “increasing Orange Cyberdefense’s market share in the UK, diversifying its customer portfolio, and maintaining the service excellence for which the company is known”, according to a press release.

Capital gains

Globally, Paris-based Orange Cyberdefense claims to have more than 3,100 multi-disciplinary experts and 36 detection centres.

It owes its UK presence to its 2019 acquisitions of SecureData and SecureLink.

Continuing the trend of real estate upgrades among top UK channel partners, Orange Cyberdefense has also opened a new UK office in the heart of the City of London. It will house a ‘Cyber Experience Centre’ to engage external stakeholders.

“The UK is an important market for Orange Cyberdefense, where we see significant development and investment potential, especially in managed security services, with a revenue growth of 10% in the market,” stated Hugues Foulon, Executive Vice President and CEO of Orange Cyberdefense.

“The UK is an incredibly mature cybersecurity market and an exemplar for other nations globally,” Bhardwaj added.

“Orange Cyberdefense has a significant presence here, a world- class SOC, and our cybersecurity incident response team (CSIRT) already established and providing valuable insights into the UK threat landscape.”
