Role: CEO, SCC
What’s been your business high point of the last 12 months?
We have delivered a stellar business performance, with double-digit topline and profitability growth, while transforming the business and accelerating the portfolio towards more value and services.
Name one thing your company is looking to achieve in 2026
The implementation of our strategic investment in AI to become a leader in this space. We are completely transforming our internal processes with AI, and bringing it into all of our other offerings, whether it’s cybersecurity or digital workplace.
What keeps you awake at night as a partner leader?
The channel is under pressure. With geopolitical uncertainties, there are many things that could impact the supply chain. What keeps me awake at night is thinking about how we can continue to ensure our customers aren’t impacted by these challenges.
Is AI being over-hyped?
No.
What’s been your most successful internal AI project to date, and why?
We’ve seen quite an astonishing tender response assisted by AI, which has led to major wins. But the real success will come from multi-year business and process repositioning thanks to AI. That’s what we’re doing with our end-to-end quote-to-cash process.
Can you share a surprising prediction about how UK IT channel partners or the UK IT channel will evolve over the next 5 years?
I predict that channel partners will move towards more AI-powered services. If not, they will struggle.
Which tech gizmo (hardware or software) could you not function without?
I’m trying really hard not to rely on any one tech product.
Which three famous people, dead or alive, would you invite to a dinner party?
Claude Shannon was one of the first people in IT engineering to conceptualise the notion of normalising language by predicting the next word. This opened the world of what we see today with LLMs.
Noam Shazeer is the inventor of the LLM revolution, including transformer models and natural language processing. He has played a pivotal role in this new AI revolution.
And finally, St Thomas Aquinas, a philosopher from the Middle Ages. Having these three together to discuss topics like language, intelligence, and how AI, contrary to what people fear, can actually make us even more human, would be beyond rewarding.
If you had a warning label, what would it say?
Be patient
Which tech figurehead has impressed you the most this year, and why?
Elon Musk. From a pure technology perspective, his ability to leverage tech and AI to do big things that totally change the way the world works. Even if some of the projects fail, his attitude to tackle big problems and succeed is impressive.
