UBDS Group says its acquisition of 3B Data Security will provide “rocket fuel” for its cybersecurity aspirations.
The 150-employee outfit today announced it has acquired 23-employee 3B, but will keep it running autonomously.
3B will sit alongside UBDS Group’s existing brands UBDS Digital and Rayo, which specialise in technology infrastructure and solutions provision, and AWS, respectively.
Cambridge-based 3B provides cyber security services, including digital forensic incident response, security training, information security consulting and penetration testing.
UBDS has spent the last 18 months focusing on strengthening its cybersecurity offering, but wanted to accelerate its growth in this area, Chief Strategy Officer Alex Gore said.
“The threat landscape is continuously evolving, and with this investment and our ongoing initiatives, we now have the rocket fuel we need to expand our reach in sales, bids, and go to market,” he stated.
“We have a full breadth of cyber security services that very few companies of our size can match.”
UBDS Group claims it is “dedicated to collaborating with and investing in entrepreneurs to support and accelerate their growth journey”.
“We share a similar mindset and we both recognise the growth potential for our businesses while understanding that this partnership is primarily about enabling our teams to grow and develop, all while actively preventing security breaches and protecting our clients,” 3B CEO Benn Morris said.
