Apple reseller Sync has supplied 8,000 devices to doctors and nurses at the UK’s largest NHS trust in a move it claims will improve patient care.

The roll out covers Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust’s (MFT’s) 10 hospitals in Greater Manchester.

It encompasses Apple devices, including iPads and iPhones.

The adoption of the devices will help healthcare professionals to perform essential tasks, such as accessing patient records and administering medication with greater effectiveness, Sync claimed.

The deal comes after Manchester-based Sync was acquired by larger Nottingham-based reseller (and fellow Apple partner) XMA in January.

“Our partnership with MFT represents a watershed moment for healthcare digitisation,” stated Tom Crump, Chief Sales Officer at Sync.

“By leveraging Sync’s expertise in Apple technology, MFT is now paving the way for enhanced operational efficiency, setting new standards for healthcare organisations nationwide.”

David Walliker, Chief Digital & Information Officer at MFT, claimed the collaboration marks a “significant leap forward in MFT’s mission to revolutionise healthcare delivery through innovative, digital solutions”.

“By integrating Apple technology into our operations, we are already transforming the way healthcare is delivered, ensuring patients at MFT receive only the highest quality of care,” he added.
