Nuvias UC has sold its £29m-revenue hardware business to Northamber and rebranded as ‘Konekt’.

In an announcement this morning, the Rigby Group-owned distributor said it will now dedicate itself to cloud comms software and services as part of a refocus already trailed here.

Nuvias UC dubbed AIM-listed distributor Northamber a “natural strategic” fit for its hardware business, which sells Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, enterprise voice and specialist collaboration devices.

Northamber will pay up to £7.1m for the business, which generated revenues of £28.8m in the 12 months to 30 October 2025.

It said the deal will accelerate its efforts to expand its AV and UC portfolio through organic investment and targeted acquisitions. It follows its purchases of AV/UCC-focused outfits Tempura Communications in April 2024 and Epatra in February 2025, respectively.

Northamber ranked 26th in IT Channel Oxygen’s recent Must-Know Distributors and Marketplaces 2025, while Nuvias UC ranked 24th.

The disposal will leave Nuvias UC – or Konekt as it is now called – with a software and services operation that delivers £40m in GII revenue, serves 400 customers and is growing at more than 25% annually.

Konekt said it will fully exit hardware across Europe before the end of the financial year, doing this in a “coordinated manner” to ensure continuity for partners and vendors throughout the transition.

“This strategic pivot allows us to deepen our expertise in cloud communications platforms and services where our partners need specialist support most,” stated Konekt CEO Joel Chimoindes.

“The cloud communications landscape is evolving fast. AI is reshaping expectations, legacy infrastructure is being phased out, and demand for integrated, scalable solutions continues to rise. With our focused vendor set and strong technical capability, Konekt is well-positioned to help partners take full advantage of this shift.

“For Konekt and our partners, this is a moment to move boldly. We’re not just expanding our portfolio, we’re sharpening our focus, investing in technical depth, and building the kind of service ecosystem that helps partners win more, deliver faster, and grow sustainably. We’re energised by what’s ahead.”

Northamber Executive Chairman Alex Phillips said the acquired business’ “expertise and strong heritage in UC and AV complement our existing portfolio, strengthening our capabilities across the intelligent workplace”.

“This addition broadens our reach and accelerates our growth in one of the fastest-evolving technology markets, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional value to our partners,” he stated.
