One of Microsoft’s top UK partners is gearing up to deploy the vendor’s Copilot technology across more than half of its employees.

Bytes Technology Group (BTG) today confirmed it is investing in Copilot for Microsoft 365 across its Bytes Software Services and Phoenix Software operations.

The investment will see 100% coverage for all its sales and marketing personnel, with more access rolled out across other teams in the business.

The move is designed to “streamline workflows, improve collaboration and drive innovation”, the LSE-listed outfit said.

“We have been running internal pilots across the Group, and the impact of using Copilot for Microsoft 365 has been nothing short of remarkable,” BTG CEO Sam Mudd stated.

“If I look across sales for example, we’ve been able to accelerate responding to enquires, generating meeting follow ups, gathering relevant information from multiple sources, and sharing at pace, all of which has enabled us to serve our customers with even greater levels of excellence.”

Having appointed Mudd as its permanent CEO on 10 May, BTG reported fiscal 2024 gross invoiced income of £1.82bn later in the month (a hike of 27%).

BTG revealed it has supported over 6,200 individuals across the public and private sectors in becoming technically ready, deploying, securing, and adopting Copilot for Microsoft 365.

This has resulted in more than 45,000 Copilot seats being deployed, including 20,000 from the NHS, and over 250 CSP Copilot customers, it said.

Live examples of the use cases under development with customers include:

  • A local Council supporting the delivery of translation services, intelligent traffic management systems, chatbots for citizen services and tourism engagement
  • A higher education provider identifying students who may drop out of university, predict water and air quality in region, and increase speed of finding student services information across campus
  • A global investor firm using AI across all departments and regions with specific uses cases in marketing for content creation, accounting and finance for the streamlining of processes and data entry, and the wider business for language translations, forecasting, and transcript and minute taking in meetings
  • A healthcare trust increasing the amount of time doctors can spend with patients by increasing efficiencies in note taking and storage, and performing sentiment analysis on emergency services calls to triage services to patients quicker
  • A global charity using predictive analytics for resource allocation and planning, automating administrative tasks, and providing accessible AI tools for senior leadership team to speed up manual processes

Rich Ellis, General Manager, Small, Medium & Corporate Customer Segment, Microsoft UK, said: “This commitment from Bytes Technology Group is a testament to their passion for innovation and a desire to deliver transformative services and solutions for organisations across the UK and beyond. By adopting Copilot for Microsoft 365 across the entire Group, BTG and its customers will be able to enjoy further productivity and efficiency gains.”
