Dublin-headquartered “security-first MSP” Ekco has made its third acquisition of 2025 in the form of Bristol-based peer SolSoft.

The acquisitive outfit in July revealed it had spent a total of €57m on six purchases inside two years.

The latest of these – Irish Adapt IT – propelled its headcount above 1,000.

Now it has snapped up another UK target in SolSoft, a 16-employee Bristol-headquartered MSP serving SMEs and not-for-profits in the South and Southwest.

This is not Ekco’s first UK acquisition. Notably, it snapped up Bluecube in December 2023, as well as Manchester-based cybersecurity consultancy Predatech this May.

SolSoft will form part of the Ekco MSP Division and boost Ekco’s UK capabilities under the leadership of Cian Prendergast.

Ekco’s sound strategy

Ranking 220th in Oxygen 250 2025, Ekco now claims to employ over 1,000 people globally across Ireland, UK, Netherlands, Malaysia, and South Africa.

It welcomed in a new CEO in May in the shape of former Iomart CCO Ben Savage.

Ekco characterises itself as a “leading managed cloud and security services provider delivering a full spectrum of cloud, cyber security, and compliance solutions to businesses across Europe”.

“Having known Solsoft very well for many years, we have always admired their rock solid, client focused, proactive service in the UK,” Prendergast stated.

“Joining Ekco lets us bring more capability and resilience to our customers, backed by Ekco’s scale – while maintaining the responsiveness they value,” Neil Farnworth, Managing Director of Solsoft, added.
