SCC’s newly appointed UK COO said his financial services and energy solutions background will enable him to bring “fresh thinking” to the role.

A former exec at Ernst & Young and Dutch outfit SHV Energy, Tom Dillon is the latest in a string of senior hires for the Birmingham-based IT group – which ranked sixth in IT Channel Oxygen’s Oxygen 250.

SCC rehired former Sales Director Andy Wright in July, before enlisting former CloudCoCo CEO Mark Halpin as Sales and Marketing Director of SCC Digital this month.

Having grown up “down the road” from SCC’s James House HQ (pictured below), Dillon moved back to Birmingham earlier this year after a period with SHV Energy’s Spanish business.

He characterised SCC as a “stable company that is built on family values and has both 50 years’ heritage and significant growth potential”.

“I am a highly commercial and analytical leader, with extensive experience in business transformation at businesses with similar values, set up, and structure to SCC,” Dillon stated.

“While my experience is predominantly in financial services and energy solutions, there are clear synergies in the way SCC operates, with some differences that enable me to take an outside in view and add value with fresh thinking through an external lens.”

Dennis Badman, CEO of SCC UK, stated: “We are delighted to welcome Tom to SCC. His extensive leadership experience within global companies, combined with his deep understanding of business growth and long-term strategy, make him an excellent fit. Tom’s strategic vision and commitment to sustainable growth align perfectly with our values and goals. His unique perspective will be invaluable as we drive forward our ambition to be the most customer and people centric technology solutions provider in the UK.”
