SoftwareOne has become the latest global reseller giant to join OpenAI’s nascent Partner Network, following in the footsteps of CDW.
The AI giant unveiled its OpenAI Partner Network in June amid efforts to start driving AI adoption at scale, alongside a $150m investment to support this ecosystem.
Partners are categorised as Elite, Advanced or Select partners based on their sales, technical capability, co-sell engagement and deployment experience.
Elite partners already listed on OpenAI’s website include global SIs Accenture, Capgemini, EY, IBM and KPMG, with CGI and Cognizant among those to have bagged Advanced status.
Stans-based Microsoft partner SoftwareOne joins the OpenAI Partner Network as a Select partner.
The only other reseller logo visible on OpenAI’s website appears to be fellow Select-level ally CDW, which last month splashed $525m on data and AI services firm Lovelytics.
SoftwareOne’s OpenAI embrace comes after it became an Anthropic Authorised Reseller for Amazon Bedrock and a Registered Anthropic Services Partner in June.
“Being named an OpenAI Select Partner reinforces SoftwareOne’s commitment to turning AI ambition into business impact,” stated Gudmundur Adalsteinsson, Chief Channel and Ecosystem Officer at SoftwareOne.
“Adding OpenAI to our agentic skill set sharpens our ability to advise customers on the right tools for every persona and workload. Combined with our expertise in cloud, data, and digital workplace transformation, we help organisations adopt AI with confidence and turn it into real competitive advantage.”
Omdia research flagged by Chief Analyst Jay McBain earlier this summer found that that just 36% of partners are either already partnered, or are likely to partner with, one of the LLM vendors.
“We expect this to change – we’ll be tracking this over the next few months, especially as we see more FDE [forward-deployed engineering] programmes be released, more pressure on GSIs to transform and the emergence of AI specialists,” McBain wrote at the time.
