Focus Group

At the time of writing at least, Focus had made 11 deals in 2024 (four before it achieved ‘unicorn’ status via its takeover by Hg in April, and seven since).

At the time, Chairman Ralph Gilbert said the Hg deal would hand Focus Group a “much larger warchest than we had before”. Notable deals since April include 50-employee MSP Prism and managed comms specialist Midland Telecom.

What they said

“It’s been an exciting two months, but everyone’s now got their head back in the game and is looking forward to the next chapter of continuing organic growth and M&A with a much larger war chest than we had before,” Focus Group Chairman Ralph Gilbert

Fun fact

Gilbert claims even competitors were “rooting” for Focus Group in its sale efforts at the start of the year, due to the depressed market.
