5. FluidOne

Deals announced in 2024: Orca (October), SureCloud Services (March)

Appetite for acquisition

FluidOne has a reputation for gobbling at least one or two peers each year – and 2024 was no different.

Having acquired 28-employee SureCloud Cyber Services in March, the Livingbridge-backed MSP in October harpooned IT MSP Orca in a move it claimed thrust its revenues to £113m and headcount to 540. Orca’s most recent annual accounts indicate it has around 40 staff.

London-based “connected cloud solutions” specialist FluidOne has now acquired nine companies since Livingbridge backed its 2019 MBO.

And there will be no slowdown in activity in 2025, CEO Russell Horton told IT Channel Oxygen (see below).

FluidOne Orca

What they said

“The market conditions and the recent budget have not altered FluidOne’s appetite for acquiring good quality owner managed IT or cyber businesses. If the macro economy can improve and lead to interest rates dropping that would greatly aid debt funding and valuations,” FluidOne CEO Russell Horton

Fun fact

FluidOne was started by school friends Chris Rogers and Piers Daniel in 2006.
