Alex Tatham has added an unusual job title to his growing post-Westcoast CV, becoming an ‘Ambassador’ for Closing The Loop.
Having left Westcoast last July, Tatham quickly took on a non-exec roles at software distributor QBS Software, as well as tech group Ci Group.
Formalised at London Tech Week on Monday (see image), Tatham’s new role at Closing The Loop will see him introduce the Dutch social enterprise’s services to UK VARs, MSPs, SIs and retailers.
Closing the Loop claims its services allow device resellers to offer a sustainable solution to their customers quickly.
For every new device added to the market, it recycles a scrap device. These devices are collected across Africa and Asia and recycled professionally and sustainably, it claims.
“Closing the Loop helps resellers win business,” Tatham stated.
“By offering their solution to environmentally conscious buyers, a reseller can immediately create commercial value without having to organise ITAD services for customers. A reseller can even add this service to their tender alongside a take-back service if required, immediately differentiating themselves and making a real impact by offsetting waste.”

Tatham’s involvement comes after Closing The Loop signed a partnership with Westcoast last August.
“I came across the business some time ago, introduced the service to Westcoast – the UK’s largest mobile distributor – and was delighted when they contacted me to ask me to promote their service,” Tatham said.
“It’s a great service and you only have to see how reseller partners such Dustin and Vodafone Germany have used CtL to win business in their local markets.”
Talking to IT Channel Oxygen, Tatham said the team behind Closing The Loop turned to him after “deciding they needed a bit of jazz hands”.
Tatham’s high profile in the UK, passion for sustainability and “legendary enthusiasm” made him the “perfect choice” for Closing the Loop, CEO Joost de Kluijver added.
“Whilst our service was originally devised for mobile, it extends to all new device sales and can really help a reseller win business,” he emphasised.
