Insight
Status: ‘Challenger’
Any change from 2022? Yes, Gartner classified Insight as a ‘Visionary’ last year, so it’s moved up (good) but also left (bad) in the market watcher’s quadrant.
Summary
This global reseller giant is a “good fit for midsize and large organisations looking to engage either on a continuous or scheduled basis or needing an international reach,” Gartner said. However, it did voice concerns about its ability to meet client requirements for more challenging forms of software and cloud consumption.
Some 68% of Insight’s SAM consultants are based in EMEA, the analyst noted.
Strengths
Insight won plaudits for its “above-average” reinvestment of revenue in development of innovation and IP (including its ‘Cloud Inform’ tool), as well as its flexible commercial model and international reach.
Cautions
Insight could do a better job of addressing “the anticipation of emerging SAM challenges”, Gartner said. It also has “limited experience with high complexity” and “appears to favour focusing on customer-by-customer requirements instead of pushing them to higher standards of SAM discipline and maturity”.
What they said
“We believe the Gartner Magic Quadrant recognition as a Challenger is a great indication that we are progressing in our aim to provide businesses with more visibility, clarity and guidance when it comes to SAM managed services,” – Karen Mclaughlin, SVP, EMEA Solutions at Insight (pictured)
