Trustmarque (via Livingstone Group)
Status: ‘Leader’
Any change from 2022? Not massively. Gartner had Livingstone as one of three ‘Leaders’ in 2022 as well. But its dot has shifted slightly up (good) and slightly left (not good) since last year.
Summary
UK-based SAM consultancy Livingstone is a “good fit for large and complex organisations with large and complex estates looking to fully outsource their SAM and FinOps functions”, Gartner said.
Livingstone was acquired in February by York-based Microsoft and Cisco partner Trustmarque (or, at least, Trustmarque’s private equity backer One Equity Partners).
Strengths
Livingstone won plaudits for being “one of the few providers that ties contract commitments to RoI achievement”, as well as its prowess in working with large complex estates. Its investments in IP and skills was seen as another strong point.
Cautions
Livingstone was marked down for appearing to focus primarily on Microsoft environments and its lack of penetration in the FinOps arena.
It has also experienced “below-average” revenue growth in the past two years, compared with its peers. Having resources in “only” six locations was seen as another limitation, Gartner said (although it noted that plans are afoot to develop in the US).
What they said
“We are delighted that Livingstone has once again been recognised as a Leader. We believe that this recognition reflects our company values to commit, collaborate, inspire and innovate. I believe that this acknowledges our outstanding expertise across all major software publishers, our commitment to customer success and the value of the investment in our IP,” Chris Allan, CEO at Livingstone Group
