Partner leaders gave a brutally honest assessment of what headway the industry has made on sustainable IT at the Oxygen 250 dinner in March.

A lack of clarity from vendors is holding back her team’s efforts to steer customers towards more sustainable IT solutions, one said.

The dinner featured CEOs and C-suite from partners representing around £10bn of UK end-user IT spend, and they didn’t hold back their true feelings.

According to Lyndsey Charlton, then COO of Daisy Corporate Services, vendors are the weakest link for partners looking to assemble more sustainable IT propositions.

“The stumbling block is the vendors,” she said.

“What is the true carbon footprint and circularity of the products they create that we then resell, what is the social impact? We cannot get a clear answer from the majority of vendors, and that’s the biggest challenge.”
