8. BlakYaks

Size: 50 staff, £5.6m revenues
Acquirer: Proact
When: March
Rationale
Everyone seemingly wants a bigger slice of the Microsoft cloud market right now, and pan-European storage and IT infrastructure specialist Proact is no exception.
It splashed out up to a cool £26m for this London-based Azure consulting and engineering specialist in March, making it one of the largest acquisitions in this rundown by deal value.
Billing itself as a specialist in delivering cloud native services, BlakYaks generated £1.5m EBITA on revenues of £5.6m in its year to February 2025. The 50-employee outfit claims to have a strong position in the financial services and insurance sectors.
What they said
“The UK is a strategically important market for us and with BlakYaks on board, we can better support our customers in their cloud journey – from strategy to implementation and operations,” – Magnus Lönn, President and CEO, Proact IT Group.
