6. Synergi

Rationale

Cloud, colocation, cyber and business continuity specialist Brightsolid had been hunting for an acquisition to extend its services for a whole year before buying Synergi, its CEO Elaine Maddison revealed.

“As a highly successful Microsoft partner, Synergi does all of that and more,” she said in a statement at the time of the deal.

Part of Scottish media group DC Thomson Group, Dundee-based Brightsolid turned over £9m in its fiscal 2024. Gateshead-based automation, data & AI and business applications specialist Synergi has 59 staff.

Noteworthy nugget

Synergi counts Drager, NHS Highland, Arriva, Lothian Buses and Scottish Fire & Rescue Service among its clients.
