10. Peter Green Chilled
When: May
What happened?
This distributor to the UK’s major supermarkets was left unable to process new orders after falling victim to a ransomware attack. It counts Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Aldi among its clients.
Who nominated it, and why?

Cyberfort CEO Glen Williams and Secon CEO Rob Gupta both put this incident in their top five.
The “widespread panic” that ensued over possible food shortages “shows the danger of supply‑chain breaches”, the former commented.
“The Peter Green incident was a turning point in showing how cyber-attacks on logistics don’t just affect business operations, they disrupt food supply and daily life,” Gupta said when asked to justify his choice.
Channel takeaway:
“It’s a stark reminder that operational risk and cyber risk are now one and the same, and providers like Secon must help organisations treat supplier assurance as a critical risk function, not just a procurement formality,” Gupta said.
