The market is finally ready to accept Pax8 as a “cloud commerce marketplace”, rather than pigeon holing it as a distributor, co-founder Ryan Walsh told IT Channel Oxygen last November.
The £42.5m turnover shown in Pax8’s latest filed UK accounts (for calendar 2022) probably do it little justice.
In a better litmus of its true scale today, Pax8 told us it now employs 450 staff in the UK and Ireland.
Globally, US-headquartered Pax8 has had a busy year, appointing a new CEO in May and launching a new Cloud Marketplace in June.

Which product, service or vendor has stood out for you in 2024?
Pax8 launched its groundbreaking new Pax8 Marketplace that redefines how IT professionals deliver technology solutions that empower small and medium-sized businesses. The new Marketplace experience delivered two new major features: Opportunity Explorer, an intelligent growth solution that leverages AI and data to reveal actionable insights so managed service providers (MSPs) can identify sales opportunities and tailor recommendations; and Storefronts, which enable MSPs to create a branded buying experience for their customers who want a self-serve option.
If you could change one thing about your business at the stroke of a wand, what would it be?
We would love our groundbreaking new Marketplace to be available to partners in every country across the globe.
When will the UK distribution market return to growth?
The traditional distribution model is dying, and we don’t expect it to return to growth. The demand among solution providers for the Pax8 Marketplace will continue to grow year over year because of the advanced technology, sophisticated tools, consolidating billing and provisioning that is provided seamlessly in a self-service model supported by account management, services and enablement.
Name one area of your business where you are expecting to add staff in 2025
Pax8 is investing heavily into AI. Both incorporating it into our business and helping our partners adopt the technology by providing enablement resources and solutions. In 2025, we plan to add staff to support this initiative.
