Pax8 says it’s just added two ‘major features’ to marketplace

"Our Marketplace is, quite simply, a beautifully visualised experience," Pax8's Libby McIlhany says

Pax8 claims it has just added two new “major features” – and six in total – to its marketplace.

The cloud commerce outfit unveiled the latest iteration of its Pax8 Marketplace at its Beyond event in Denver this week.

North American and EMEA partners can get their hands on it from 17 June, with APAC partners having to wait a day longer.

The first major new feature, dubbed ‘Opportunity Explorer’, is designed to help MSPs identify sales opportunities and tailor recommendations via the power of AI.

The second, ‘Storefronts’, enables MSPs to create a branded buying experience for customers who want a self-serve option, Pax8 claimed.

Founded in 2012, Pax8 broke through the $1bn ARR barrier in 2022 and has built a 400-employee EMEA business via a series of quickfire acquisitions (including UK Microsoft partners Wirehive and Bam Boom Cloud).

Co-Founder Ryan Walsh claimed in November that the market is finally ready to accept Pax8 as a “cloud commerce marketplace”, rather than pigeon holing it as a distributor.

Four other features and functionality additions were also unveiled this week, namely (and to quote directly):

  • Catalog: Featuring smart search and advanced sorting capabilities that make it easy for partners to find exactly what they’re looking for.
  • Multi-cart: Allowing partners to create multiple carts simultaneously that can be held until ready.
  • Quotes: Providing a seamless, simplified quote-to-contract process so MSPs can instantly view the status of each quote, brand and customize quote templates, create new quotes with ease, and share and publish quotes.
  • Solutions: Enabling partners to architect a solutions library using products they know align with their customers’ needs, so they can build once and easily re-sell again.

“With the launch of the new Pax8 Marketplace, partners can gain unprecedented AI-driven insights into their product portfolio’s alignment with customer needs, allowing them to craft solutions that unleash extraordinary growth and also deliver top-notch security,” said Libby McIlhany, Pax8 Chief Product Officer.

“Our Marketplace is, quite simply, a beautifully visualised experience for our partners that also anticipates their business needs. In all, these are technology innovations that will reshape how our partners deliver cloud solutions to their small and medium-sized business customers worldwide.”

The launch comes six weeks after Pax8 promoted CTO Scott Chasin to the CEO role, to succeed founder John Street.
