Mike Norris yesterday celebrated 30 years as Computacenter CEO.

1. Taking the Computacenter controls
1 January 1995
Having joined Computacenter’s sales team in 1984, Norris earned promotions in 1988 and 1992 before being handed the top job in December 1994.
His official start date as CEO was on 1 January 1995.
But the University of East Anglia Maths and Computer Science graduate’s Computacenter career was nearly a non-starter after he was directed to the wrong address for his initial job interview a decade earlier.
“I realised I was a mile away on a hot summer’s day,” he recalled in this 2011 interview.
“I was only 22 years old. I stood outside the call box and thought ‘shall I bother?”’. Professional pride…? a good work ethic…? For some reason, I bothered. And it changed my life.”
