Q1 deals: Excalibur

M&A agenda

Onecom brandished its first deal in over a year in March when it grabbed Swindon-based Excalibur to strengthen its managed services prowess.

Ranking 19th in the recent Oxygen 250, LDC-backed Vodafone partner Onecom has been on a mission to diversify beyond its roots as a mobile comms specialist.

Vodafone, Gamma and Microsoft partner Excalibur – which turns over nearly £10m – will aid this cause by strengthening Onecom’s IT managed services strategy, CEO Martin Flick said.

What they said

“The pedigree of the team, coupled with their excellent customer base, makes this acquisition a logical step for Onecom in scaling up its managed services and fortifying its diversified market presence,” – Martin Flick

Dazzling detail

Despite making 11 acquisitions since 2020, Onecom had been quiet on the M&A front since it announced a brace of purchases in January and February 2023.
