A Nordic VAR has added some fizz to the AI sector by helping one of its clients develop an AI beer.

Sweden-based technology solutions provider Aixia worked with brewer Ocean Beer to help produce a low-alcohol beer with the help of AI, according to a press release from its vendor partner Pure Storage.

Aixia digitised the brewer’s existing recipe catalogue, compared against statistics on beer sales to identify consumption and taste profiles, and then used generative AI to produce recipes for the beer, the release stated.

Aixia and Ocean Beer

Pure Storage claimed that its AIRI technology was “fundamental” in the development of Ocean Beer’s new tipple.

Aixia’s AI Infrastructure is based on Nvidia DGX-systems. But it pairs this with Pure Storage FlashBlade, whose “blisteringly fast” speed allows it to deliver AI-based solutions to its customers on time, the vendor claimed.

Thirst for AI

Counting Nvidia, Pure Storage, Nutanix and Arista Networks among its key vendors, Mölndal-based Aixia specialises in AI solutions and services, enterprise IT infrastructure, IT operations and hosting and IT products/solutions. It claims to have around 120 customers nationwide in a wide range of industries.

According to analyst Canalys, GenAI is set to amount to a $158.6bn opportunity for the channel by 2028, up from $15.4bn in 2023.

“Our partnership with Pure Storage means we can support customers to get AI projects up and running quickly; to innovate and help deliver rapid ROI,” said Simon Janeck, Head of R&D at Aixia.

“We’re in the early stages of the applied AI revolution but are already seeing the incredible innovations that are made possible through partners like Aixia,” Joao Silva, Vice President, EMEA, Pure Storage, added.
