Deloitte and IBM link arms ‘to help organisations accelerate sustainable transformation’

Deloitte and IBM have integrated their respective sustainability offerings in a move designed to help joint customers “accelerate their sustainable transformation”.

Under the duo’s expanded partnership, IBM’s Envizi ESG Suite has been integrated with Deloitte’s GreenLight Solution.

The collaboration seeks to streamline capabilities for clients in two “important dimensions” of sustainable transformation, namely data-driven insights and strategic action, the duo said.

The partnership comes as vendors and resellers step up their efforts to help their SME customers measure and reduce carbon emissions. Energy management vendor Schneider Electric recently launched a carbon measurement and reduction SaaS solution that will initially be targeted at its IT reseller partners.

Envizi and GreenLight integration

IBM acquired data and analytics software provider for environmental performance management Envizi in January 2022. The software is designed to help companies capture and consolidate ESG data into a single system of record, conduct emissions calculations and support ESG reporting.

Deloitte claims its GreenLight Solution helps provide sustainability performance improvements in areas such as analysis on global credit and incentives and abatement strategies, meanwhile.

“The climate crisis requires urgent action, yet organisations are struggling to get data-driven insights that would enable them to think more strategically and make the right decisions,” said Marcus Goetz, Partner and Global Sustainability and Climate Technology Marketplace Leader, Deloitte GmbH.

“Through integration of IBM’s Envizi with Deloitte’s GreenLight Solution, organisations can leverage their existing investments in IBM solutions to rapidly access the data needed, enhance insights and better understand their options for accelerated action toward their climate and sustainability goals.”

“This expanded collaboration with Deloitte builds on our ongoing relationship, making it easier for our mutual clients to apply a strategic lens to their sustainability efforts, enabled by Deloitte’s deep experience and capabilities in sustainable business transformation,” added Christina Shim, Global Head of Product Management/Strategy, sustainability software, IBM.
