"Many people already call me for advice when they're looking for their next role"

A new dedicated channel recruitment brand has enlisted Alex Tatham as a non-exec, citing his “famously infectious enthusiasm”.

The former Westcoast MD has added ‘PropRec Channel’ to his list of part-time positions alongside the likes of QBS Software, Novatech and Closing the Loop.

It is the specialist channel brand of executive search and talent management business PropRec Executive Search.

PropRec claims it will serve resellers, distributors and MSPs, as well as US and Asian vendors that are entering EMEA and building their channel for the first time.

Tatham said many people “already call me for advice when they’re looking for their next role”.

“PropRec has a strong technology recruitment business, and there’s plenty of room in Europe and the Middle East for a specialist channel talent partner,” he said.

“Famously infectious”

PropRec CEO Chris Pardoe said Tatham’s connections and understanding of the channel made him his “first choice” for non-executive.

“His enthusiasm is famously infectious, and he’ll be a great fit with our team as PropRec Channel becomes the go-to destination for channel talent,” he said.

PropRec Channel’s launch comes after the CEO fellow recruiter The Channel Recruiter Zoe Chatley debunked the “myth” that candidates are being rejected by AI in what remains a tough jobs market.

Because the channel works differently from direct sales, recruiting for it “takes specialist knowledge”, Pardoe said.

“A channel leader has to balance direct sales and partner engagement diplomatically and deliver in a fast-changing market. Finding those people takes real channel knowledge,” he said.

“The same goes for resellers and distributors, who need strong commercial, product and technical talent to succeed in Europe and the Middle East. That’s who PropRec Channel is built for.”
