In an M&A gear shift, Giacom has bolstered its intellectual property by acquiring billing specialist Inform Billing.

The Inflexion-backed distributor added £65m-£70m in revenues and 80-90 staff via its last purchase of Microsoft licensing specialist intY in December 2023.

In contrast, Giacom said its latest conquest will boost its billing capabilities by adding intellectual property in advanced business intelligence and analytics tools.

It described Inform Billing as a “leading provider of billing solutions for resellers and MSPs”.

Thrills and bills

The acquisition comes 16 months after the distributor rebranded under the Giacom banner, following predecessor brand DWS’ spin out from Daisy in 2021.

Giacom already positions its Cloud Market as a one-stop-shop for MSPs and tech resellers to procure and manage comms, cloud, hardware and billing.

The addition of Inform Billing will hand its partners “deeper insights into their revenue streams, supporting growth in both revenue and profitability”, Giacom CEO Terry O’Brien claimed.

“As SMBs increasingly seek strategic partners for all their technology needs, our partners have a tremendous opportunity to accelerate their growth by becoming a one stop shop,” he said in a canned comment.

“Our goal is to make it easy for partners to become that trusted advisor, monetise new services quickly, and scale efficiently.”

“This partnership also brings substantial investment that will accelerate the R&D of our solutions, enabling partners to benefit even more from advanced business intelligence and revenue analysis,” stated Shaun Bodsworth, Founder and Managing Director of Inform Billing.

Giacom said it will integrate Inform Billing’s offering into its Cloud Market Tools, a suite of applications designed to maximise efficiency and scalability for its channel partners.
