JD Hupp says he’s “excited for what’s next” after serving his last day at CDW.
Having helmed CDW’s UK business since 2020, Hupp is one of a number of bigwigs exiting the world’s largest reseller amid a local exec shake up.
As revealed by IT Channel Oxygen in October, Penny Williams has been crowned the new UK&I MD, with UK CFO Malcolm Pope leaving the business alongside Hupp.
UK CTO Carl Lawton also announced last week that he has decided to move on from his role after 12 years at CDW (see bottom).
“I’m excited for what’s next”
CDW veteran Hupp was known to have been running the UK business largely out of his home city of Chicago.
In a LinkedIn post, Hupp confirmed that today marks the “end of an incredible 25-year chapter in my career”.
“As I reflect on these amazing years, I’m excited for what’s next. Where I’m going, I’ll share soon—stay tuned,” he teased.
The rejig comes after CDW announced a 2% drop in global net sales in its Q3 to 31 October 2024, as a strong performance in cloud and endpoint solutions failed to offset the impact of lower hardware solutions demand. Net income was flat at $316m.
Following Canalys Founder Steve Brazier’s recent time call on 30 years of hardware growth, CDW also yesterday became the latest large VAR to bolster its cloud software business – acquiring Californian AWS partner Mission Cloud Services.
