Deals announced in 2024: SoConnect (May), SCS Technology Solutions (March)

Appetite for M&A

This Nottingham-based MSP is embarking on “the next stage of growth” after this month appointing a new CEO in the form of Barney Taylor (who just helped create a $1bn ‘unicorn’ at Focus Group).

August Equity-backed Air IT has had a quieter couple of years on the M&A front, following up its 2023 acquisition of Vital Technology Group with purchases of Lincoln-based SCS and Edinburgh-based SoConnect in March and May 2024, respectively.

Its latest two buys employed around 14 and 35 staff, respectively.

SMB-focused Air IT has made 13 acquisitions since August Equity invested in 2020, with calendar 2023 revenues hitting £62.9m (up from £40.1m in 2022, £29.7m in 2021 and £10.6m in 2020).

What they said

“Air IT has a clear plan to accelerate over the coming years and as we look to realise this ambition, we will build a business that people love to work in, built on high performance, a clear focus on customer service and a great culture,” Barney Taylor, Air IT CEO

Fun fact

Air IT should have few problems hitting its targets – it counts Archery GB among its clients.
