The channel jobs market is “picking up”, a recruitment leader who has been honest about the tough market in 2024 has asserted.
In a LinkedIn video post, The Channel Recruiter CEO Zoe Chatley said she is “starting to see positions come in for growth roles”.
Chatley has previously been candid about the state of the jobs market this year, acknowledging in April that the industry “has taken a bit of a hit in terms of vacancies”.
But she issued a more upbeat assessment of the market following her return to work after her summer break.
“Something I’ve noticed more than anything over the last couple of weeks is the amount of green banners that are being removed. We’re seeing a lot more announcements of people that have been made redundant landing new roles,” she said (see below).
Talking to IT Channel Oxygen, Chatley said she is currently working with “three big VARs” who are all in recruitment mode.
“Before I went on holiday, my team and I were seeing a massive increase in roles coming in, but also new clients getting in touch to book meetings in, because they’ve got hiring needs looking at the last quarter of the year,” she said.
“Given the last 12 months, it’s refreshing to see.”
Chatley added: “The hiring teams getting in touch – whether that be HR or directors – are willing to wait for the right right process and getting the right hires in. They’re not rushing, but the hires and sign-offs are there.
“It just feels a lot more positive. I feel a lot more excited about the next 6-12 months than I did 6-12 months ago.”
