The six in the mix for nationwide MSP fix

Six MSP experts are hitting the road to provide tips on how to run “every department” of an MSP business.

Aimed primarily at sub-£2m-revenue MSPs, the ‘UK Stadium Tour‘ will take in London on 1 May, before moving onto Bristol, Manchester and Newcastle.

“It’s one day, six experts and 12 tips,” Sellerly Director Paul Lloyd – who is one of the scholarly sextet – told IT Channel Oxygen.

“They have one day out of their business, and leave with ways of improving every department of their business.”

Sales expert Lloyd will be dispensing his golden nuggets on business growth and winning new clients.

He will be joined by five other experts in the shape of Daniel Welling, Jane Matthews, Michelle Coombs, Andrew Eardley and Scott Miller. Their backgrounds span areas including finance, marketing and tech.

Together, the six MSP brainboxes go by the name of the “ITBetweeners”.

“It’s very difficult working on your own. We collaborate, but we also support each other and help each other from a mindfulness perspective,” Lloyd said.

The answer to “naff” vendor days

Lloyd said he sees the tour as a kind of antidote to vendor days that can take owner-managers out of their business with little business benefit.

“The presentations are naff, most of them are trying to flog something, and people turn up for the beer and food as much as anything else – so we wanted to do something different,” he said.

“On the day, everyone gets a workshetet which has 12 boxes to fill in. Each of us comes up with two things they can implement in their business the following day.”

Tour dates:

  • London – 1 May, Allianz Stadium Twickenham, South London
  • Bristol – 12 June
  • Manchester – 11 September
  • Newcastle – 20 November
