8. Kascade
Old name: Computerworld
Date of name change: 2023
Rationale
This Bristol-based reseller-turned-MSP ditched its old Computerworld moniker in 2023 after concluding it “no longer captured our essence and new direction”.
The move rounded off a “12-month period of profound transformation” designed to grow managed services revenue at the expense of product resale.
What happened next?
Kascade said in recently filed accounts that it “continued to execute its managed services growth strategy” in its year ending 31 March 2025.
That helped it post a small operating profit, compared with an operating loss the year before.
