CDW has been named ‘Official IT Services Supplier’ to the 2027 Ryder Cup, this time with a “significantly expanded remit” that will see it roll out a variety of HPE tech at the golfing contest.
In what SVP & Managing Director, CDW UK & International, Penny Williams, branded a “tremendous moment for CDW and for our suppliers”, the VAR giant has been chosen to act as the prime IT infrastructure delivery partner across the full lifecycle of the event.
CDW was given the same title the last time the biennial competition was held on European soil in 2023, when Team Europe lifted the trophy in Rome.
The next showdown will take place in Limerick from 17 to 19 September 2027.
The NASDAQ-listed outfit – which ranked 4th in Oxygen 250 2026 – has a wider remit this time around, it claimed, however.
CDW’s role in Limerick will begin with the initial design and infrastructure build, before taking in live operations during match week and then full decommissioning and asset recovery once the winner has been declared.
HPE will be its main vendor playing partner, with CDW rolling out an HPE high-density wired and Wi-Fi 7 network, as well as HPE cyber and infrastructure services.
Richard Atkinson, Chief Ryder Cup Officer at the European Tour Group, said CDW has the “engineering depth, integration expertise and operational discipline” necessary to take accountability for the event’s infrastructure.
“Being named the Official IT Services Supplier of the 2027 Ryder Cup is a tremendous moment for CDW and for the suppliers we will be working alongside,” Williams added in a canned comment.
“In Rome in 2023 we showed what is possible when you combine best-in-class technology with deep services capability; in 2027 we are going further, taking prime responsibility for the entire technology platform that allows the event to run securely, reliably and at full global broadcast scale.”
