Wendy Shearer says she’s “on a mission to demystify the data centre industry” in her role as Director of Partnerships and Ecosystems at Pulsant.

Having joined Pulsant in 2020, the former Trustmarque and Computacenter exec has gone on to build a partner programme from the ground up for the digital infrastructure provider.

In episode one of this special IT Channel Oxygen podcast, Shearer opens up about her career switch, why partners are becoming increasingly important to Pulsant, and its recent blockbuster acquisition of two SCC data centres.

“I’m on a bit of mission now to try and help people understand a little bit more and demystify the datacentre industry,” she said.

Of Pulsant’s recent SCC acquisition, Shearer said many data centre operators are looking to divest their data centre assets and invest that money somewhere else.

“We have a head of corporate development who’s constantly analysing the market and looking for ones that are a good fit for us – and ultimately that’s exactly what SCC had,” she said.

In the next episode, we’ll be asking Shearer about her biggest partner programme bugbears from when she was a partner leader, and how she applied these to building Pulsant’s partner programme…
