Rank: 150th (down from 104th year on year)

Estimated wealth: £1.041bn

Rich celebrities eclipsed by their wealth: Sir Paul McCartney and Nancy McCartney (£1.025bn), JK Rowling (£945m)

Despite seeing their family fortune dip by an estimated £553m year on year, the Rigbys remain the UK IT channel’s wealthiest dynasty, according to the Sunday Times’ countdown.

SCC, the Birmingham-based IT reseller Sir Peter Rigby founded in 1975, saw group revenues reach £3.4bn in what it branded a “more difficult” fiscal 2024. Billing itself as Europe’s largest independent IT group, it celebrates 50 years in business this year.

SCC UK ranked 7th in Oxygen 250 with 2024 revenues of £916m, while its French arm turned over €2.7bn.

The wider Rigby Group – whose interests span not only technology but also airports, real estate and hotels – turned over £3.7bn.

Co-CEO Steve Rigby recently hit out at budget tax changes, saying they are threatening family businesses like Rigby Group.
