Reseller real estate upgrades are all the rage, with Telefónica Tech, Softcat and SHI unveiling plush new pads within days of each other.
The trio are all looking to impress staff, customers and vendors with their fresh haunts.
Telefónica Tech last week unveiled a new London HQ on the 31st floor of 20 Fenchurch St, AKA the Walkie Talkie.
Designed from the ground up, it will facilitate “inspired collaboration and brainstorming, and spontaneous moments of shared energy and ideas”, the technology solutions provider claimed.

The move comes four years after Telefónica Tech leapt into the UK with its €398m acquisition of Cancom UK&I, and three years after its purchase of Scottish Microsoft partner Incremental for up to £175m.
It also follows on from Telefónica Tech UK&I’s move to unite its five technology practices (namely cloud, data & AI, business applications, digital workplace and cybersecurity) last August.
Not to be outdone, Softcat this week zoned in on Bristol as the latest stop in a wider upgrade of its most strategic offices (click below for a closer peek).
Following recent relocations in Birmingham and London, the UK’s largest reseller has relocated from Wyndham Court to Bristol’s Halo building – adding 3,000 sq ft in the process for its 160 Bristolian employees.
“For our employees, we’ve created a diverse and innovative environment that empowers them to work in the most effective way. For our customers, we’ve established a spacious event area to host and connect with more local businesses throughout the South West,” James Jarvis, Sales and Office Manager for Softcat Bristol, stated.
“These changes enable us to provide facilities to enhance wellbeing and collaboration between our people, vendors and customers,” Softcat CEO Graham Charlton said of the wider real-estate upgrade in Softcat’s recent half-year results.
Boasting panoramic views of the city, Telefónica Tech’s new joint features meeting rooms and collaboration areas, an innovation centre to showcase advanced solutions, and an event space.
Softcat’s new Bristol base features repurposed furniture and equipment and “eco-friendly designs”, meanwhile. It fits into its wider aim to put “sustainability, collaboration and innovation at the forefront” of its simultaneous real estate upgrade.
Also getting in on the office upgrade act was SHI, which has expanded its London pad by taking over another floor (which will hold new London-based hires and act as a sales hub).
Whose pad is the plushest? And where would you work?
