The launch of ChatGPT in November 2022 set the stage for GenAI to dominate the IT industry in 2023.
Resellers, MSPs and IT consultancies wasted no time joining the party, harnessing GenAI to streamline processes either internally or for customers, acquiring or building extra GenAI capabilities, or even productising it.
Here we round up seven of the boldest GenAI/AI moves from UK IT solutions providers (or global ones with a UK operation) that reached IT Channel Oxygen’s newsdesk this year.

What happened?
Ancoris claimed it became the first dedicated Google partner to launch a GenAI practice in June. It is designed to help customers develop and launch AI-native initiative.

Ringfencing a team of engineers whose only job was to work on rapid prototyping for customers is the only way to succeed in enterprise GenAI, CEO Andre Azevedo told IT Channel Oxygen.
“This is the most important thing that none of the Google dedicated partners were doing, and are still not doing from what I can tell,” he said.
“A lot of people think about GenAI as the consumer bit – ChatGPT, Bard etc. But actually what we are talking to customers about is what we call enterprise GenAI. Yes, you may be leveraging some of those large language models to create chatbot interfaces for customers, but we’re already doing a few things for customers on natural language querying of databases.”
Ancoris has since generated nearly £1m in GenAI services revenues, Azevedo claimed.
