5. Zenzero
PE acquirer: Macquarie Capital (from Fordhouse)
Date: September 2023
Deal size: Zenzero generated revenues of £14.9m in the 18 months to 31 March 2022. Average staff numbers stood at 141 during the period.
Rationale
Macquarie pledged to help this Coventry-based MSP grow “both organically and via acquisition”.
M&A was the watchword for Zenzero under previous backer Fordhouse, with Aberdeen-based Dynamic Edge Solutions among its conquests during their three-year relationship.
Macquarie will “enhance its growth potential”, claimed Zenzero, which styles itself as a provider of “future-ready managed IT, cyber, data and digital services” to SME and mid-market customers.
Macquarie is no stranger to the UK IT and comms space: It also owns acquisitive unified comms specialist Wavenet.
What they said
“The opportunity for growth within UK SMEs, and the mid-market, for our services is clear. As a team, we look forward to building on our success to-date through the new partnership we have with Macquarie and continuing to invest in our people, service offerings and high-quality acquisitions,” Zenzero CEO Michael Bateman.
