With silly season upon us, here we round up the biggest UK VAR and MSP stories of 2025 so far, in reverse order of magnitude.

Already this year, we’ve seen a couple of channel partner mega-deals and a massive 50-year anniversary for one of the industry’s biggest names.

But which story did our journalists rank top?

Click through to find out…

10. Channel goes B Corp berserk

When: All year

Until fairly recently, the term ‘B Corp’ was best associated with consumer goods brands such as Ben & Jerry’s and The Body Shop.

But in June, IT Channel Oxygen reported on how the B Corp trend is now sweeping through the UK IT channel, with at least 10 UK MSPs on our radar alone having converted to B Corp status since the start of 2024.

“The ‘why’ behind it is really that we were getting asked by customers and staff,” Utilize Group MD Guy Hocking told IT Channel Oxygen.

“Since becoming a B Corp we’ve had multiple customers reach out to us to say, ‘we’re really interested in what you guys are doing’ and ‘how we can adopt it in our organisation’?”

There are 9,700 B Corporations globally, including around 2,500 in the UK.

To pass muster, they must commit to positively impact all stakeholders, namely workers, communities, customers and the planet.

So what does being a B Corp really involve?

IT Channel Oxygen dropped in on Natilik last year to get a first-hand account of what being a B Corp involved. It was one of the IT channel’s B Corp pioneers, alongside Cloud Technology Solutions (now Qodea) and QBS Software.
